The Design Society and The Technical University of Denmark are pleased and excited to invite you to The 18th International Conference on Engineering Design, ICED11, which will be held at The Technical University of Denmark, on 15th-18th August 2011.
Loyal to the tradition of the ICED conference series, we’re looking forward to offering you an exciting and inspiring conference programme, an insight into the Danish culture and a fun social backdrop for the conference and connected workshops.
ICED is a biannual conference, with a growing academic and industrial audience. The conference has its roots in engineering, but has radically broadened in scope, to a general understanding of designing as an activity, its human factors and knowledge aspects, its composed and multi-disciplinary nature, and its societal role and importance.
Design has a central role in bringing engineering and technology to practical use. We have chosen, therefore, that ICED11 will focus on the balancing of societal impact of engineering design.
ICED11 Conference Participants
The ICED conference series invites and encourages contributions from both academia and industry. For ICED11 we invite to a broad exchange of experiences and ideas, including participants with the following profiles:
- Academics and researchers working in the field of the Design Science
- Researchers and practitioners working on multidisciplinary aspects of design
- Design, engineering and technical professionals and managers
- Product development professionals and managers
- R&D executives working with engineering design and product development strategies and plans
- National and regional development agencies, governmental bodies and research/industry policy organisations.
Whether you are a novice or an experienced professional in Design Research, Engineering Design or Product Development, ICED11 will be of benefit for you.
Contributions
We invite high-quality submissions for
ICED11, on topics that cover substantial, original and previously unpublished research. Applied, theoretical and results-oriented papers from both academia and industry, based on rigorous analysis or argumentation, will all be considered for inclusion.
