Our aim with ICED is to create a platform for rich discussion and knowledge sharing. The conference programme is therefore designed to reach an inspiring balance of presentation and discussion forms, giving time and space for knowledge exchange. The conference programme will therefore integrate the following forms:
- Plenary sessions: Consisting of keynote papers, presenting the leading thoughts, new ideas and visions.
- Podium sessions: Consisting of selected oral papers grouped by theme. Speakers will be allocated 20 minutes for presentation and discussion of their contributions.
- Discussion sessions: Consisting of a series of papers, selected and grouped to provoke lively and deep thematic discussions. Speakers will be asked to prepare a short (5 minute) pitch on their paper and afterwards to go into a discussion with the other speakers and the audience. Facilitated by skilled chairmen!
- Workshop sessions: Hosting the Design Society’s Special Interest Groups and covering a broad range of research themes. Workshops bring together users and experts in interactive, half-day sessions, elaborating on specific topics. Workshop coordinators may invite selected presentations and demonstrations in order to stimulate the debate as well as to propose any format of delivery that inspires interaction. Workshop participants will receive all the workshop contributions prior to the conference in order to stimulate a discussion on the workshop.
- Wallpapered coffee sessions: All conference participants are invited to submit posters, describing their research. These posters will provide the backdrop for the coffee breaks, where authors can attract the attention of potential collaborators. This offer should be of particular interest to young researchers and to larger research groups/funded research projects.
